About the Role

We are looking for a Developer Experience lead to activate our community of developers, driving adoption of LastMile’s products and leading our marketing efforts. We are looking for someone with an acute insight into trends who is able to energize a large community. You will own the strategy and execution of community engagement, representing LastMile AI through demos, in-person meet-ups and managing our online presence. Responsibilities include: launching marketing campaigns, building demos and engaging with the developer community. This role is ideal for someone who is technically-minded, thrives in a 0 → 1 environment, embraces the ambiguity of an early-stage startup and is energized when engaging with an excited community embracing new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Community Engagement & Growth
  • Design and execute strategies to activate and grow LastMile AI’s developer community across online platforms, open source channels and in-person events.
  • Build strong relationships with developers by fostering dialogue, amplifying community contributions and creating feedback loops into the product team.
  • Serve as the public face of LastMile AI for developers through meetups, online forums, hackathons and social platforms.
• Content & Evangelism
  • Represent LastMile AI at high-impact conferences, hackathons and industry events by securing speaking opportunities, running workshops and building partnerships.
  • Drive thought leadership in AI agents by publishing blogs, tutorials and talks that highlight developer success stories and emerging use cases.
  • Create compelling campaigns that generate organic awareness and adoption of LastMile’s products.
• Technical Demonstrations & Enablement
  • Build AI agent demos that showcase the power and versatility of LastMile’s mcp-agent framework.
  • Proactively create demos tailored to unique industries, problems and use cases to spark developer imagination.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to ensure demos reflect product capabilities and provide actionable feedback from the community.
• Strategic Marketing & Partnerships
  • Launch creative marketing initiatives that grow brand awareness and adoption among developers.
  • Identify and build relationships with ecosystem partners (universities, student groups, open source projects, industry communities) to extend LastMile AI’s reach.
  • Partner with founders and marketing to align developer advocacy with company-level GTM priorities.

Who We’re Looking For

• Proven Experience:
  • 5+ years in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical marketing or community building for a developer-focused product.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and activate technical communities, with measurable impact on adoption or engagement.
• Technical Fluency:
  • Comfort with building demos, prototypes, and tutorials that resonate with developers (experience with AI/ML or open source projects a plus).
  • Able to translate technical concepts into compelling stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset:
  • Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments and embraces the ambiguity of an early-stage startup.
  • Self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities for community growth, experiments with new approaches and iterates quickly.
• Marketing & Storytelling Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating blogs, tutorials and talks that drive engagement.
  • Creative thinker who can design campaigns, events and partnerships that resonate with developers.
• Relationship-Driven:
  • Natural connector who enjoys building relationships with developers, partners and ecosystem players.
  • Strong presence and confidence in representing the company at conferences, hackathons and online forums.
